This Online Portfolio is dedicated to My Dad who passed away January 2012. The majority of the development was complete whilst helping renovate his house in Spain. There will always be a special place in my heart for you. You are my inspiration.

Sketchbook / Canvas
A collection of my sketchbook and canvas work from 1991-1995 which i have scanned in and presented in a digital format. I wanted to showcase this work as it is where my creative career started and i believe that any good design starts on paper. None of this work has been manipulated using any computer applications apart from increasing contrast to display the faded media and cropping to fit within the website layout.
Acrylic
Various acrylic paintings inluding ink press work and pieces inspired by the famous artist Giacometti.
Ink
Hand drawn pieces and design sheets using fountain pen ink, magic markers and felt tip pens.
collage
Various painting, photography and drawing techniques used as stencils, collage and storyboards.
Mixed Media
Pieces created using a mixture of media. This includes a circular piece entitled THE ORB. This was etched into a painted piece of 6 foot diameter fomex. I later came to exhibit this work at a local art gallery and sold a framed printed version of the work.
Pencil
Pencil sketches mainly drawn in a 'scribble' style which i used for the majority of my sketchbook work.
Photography
Photographs taken using a black and white Canon camera and all developed in a dark room. Digital photography didnt exist at the time!

Below is a selection of my more recent work (2012 onwards) showing responsive user Interface work I have designed using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
A responsive UI Photoshop mock up I designed for an online vocational learning portal. This demonstrates drag and drop functionality for use with AJAX. -
An additional theme showing slide out menus for the UI I designed for an online vocational learning portal. All of the graphical assets are seperated into layers for easy slicing and adding to CSS. 
Mobile device versions of the UI I designed for online learning portal apps. I created these at various sizes for Android and iOS devices.

A HTML page I created using tabs and Amazon affiliate embed links.

A system process diagram I drew using Illustrator. 
A graphical asset I drew in Illustrator which was used as part of an audio recording app for mobile devices. 
A sitemap I drew in Illustrator which was used as a printed guidance sheet to help with the navigation of an intranet CMS. 
Floor plans drawn in Illustrator and interactivity developed in Flash. 
A pure Javascript game tutorial which I set up and used to learn the code. 
A prototype home page I developed using CSS3 transitions and JQuery. 
JQuery/CSS3 box fade animation effects tutorial. 
Tiltshift photography using JQuery and CSS3 effects with my own images. 
HTML5 / CSS3 experimental website wich I used to learn the programming languages.

The Byte August 1987. Turn.js flipbook demo. The artwork used here is the first magazine I ever produced when I was just 14 years old. Me and a friend hand drew everything and typed up the copywriting on a ZX Spectrum!

A seasonal newsletter designed to promote various services, events and products for an online vocational assessment provider. 
A flyer advertising featured products for a martial arts company. Designed using Photoshop. 
8 page product catalogue designed for a martial arts company. This was designed using Quark Xpress and was one of the first multi-page catalogues I produced. 
Certificate designed in Illustrator and embedded into Word with editable text fields. 
Handbook produced to show locations of City Learning Centres within a small local borough in Liverpool UK. I drew all of the maps using Illustrator. 
This is one of my most recent designs created in InDesign. I worked with copywriters and designers and was part responsible for design work and layout. 
Instructional booklet produced to provide guidance with administration of a Joomla CMS project. 
A schools website project I completed and passed for my ILM First Line Management project. 
A humorous card I designed as a leaving gift for a member of staff. 
Banners designed for email/web marketing and print. 
I designed all of the marketing materials included in this conference display including the displayed boards. 
I did the majority of the design work on this flyer and was responsible for layout and optimization. 
I was provided with the graphics for this flyer and enhanced and added to them to fit in with the product. 
A unique idea which I came up with for business cards. 
I used Illustrator to draw this concept diagram to show the integration of 4 different online systems. -

Who is this Guy?
I am a passionate, creative Web Developer / Designer who has worked for both public and private sectors throughout my career. For the last 15 years I have been involved in all aspects of cross platform website and application development including design, layout, coding, development and administration.
As well as using third party Content Management Systems like Microsoft SharePoint and open source technologies, namely Joomla CMS and WordPress. I have also hand coded static and dynamic websites from scratch using (X)HTML, Flash, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, PHP and ASP - I specifically use the Adobe Creative Suite software for this. I have also set up and configured server side MySql databases and am familiar with SEO web marketing methodologies.

3D Design
This is an old college project produced using 3D Studio Max. Due to other commitments, I havent had the opportunity to work on any more 3D projects although this is something I am passionate about. All animations have been optimized and rendered for web in swf format.
